Re: New Breakfast and lunch crepe place in J'Anita's old spot

As I literally live around the corner, I'll give it a try soon and add a report.

Re: Le Foret Restaurant

I was the guinea pig for Sweet Gals, someone else is going to have to take the hit on this one. I'm so not interested. Unless Bam says so of course. Bam and I literally had the same exact conversation about this place last night as we did months ago. I just don't get how they are going to put enoug...

Re: The Point in Harvey

It's a favorite of one of my customer's in the area, so I've been twice-in fact I was there last week. It's a cafeteria style mom/pop restaurant with po-boys, gumbo and daily specials. You grab your tray and walk through the line like Piccadilly. I had gumbo and potato salad last week and thoroughl...

The Point in Harvey

I'm headed to a business lunch at "The Point" at 2800 4th St. in Harvey. Anyone know anything about the place? I'm going today. Thanks in advance for any help you can be.

Re: New Breakfast and lunch crepe place in J'Anita's old spot

Considering how close I live, maybe 200 feet, I'll try it at some point. JAG, was the food bad? If it was just the service, that can be worked out. The menu looked interesting. What was the major issue?

Re: Bar Food

I'd definately suggest Avenue Pub/J'Anita's. The food is good and the beer selection looks very good. They have a number of "small plate" type things which are something to munch on but not a full meal. Give it a try and tell us how it was.

Re: Lesser of the evils?

Unfortunately you don't have the choice anymore. Two good friends of mine dined at Carmello's a couple of nights ago. It was the restaurant's last night. He had lease problems and is moving his restaurant to the Northshore, Mandeville to be exact. The FQ location is dark now.

Re: Dooky Chase

I didn't find the buffet that great. The food coming out off the menu looked better. I plan on trying the Shrimp Clemenceau off the menu next time. The waiter told me that this dish is never on the buffet. Maybe I caught them on an off day?

Re: Taqueros has reopened as a Mexican Tapas Bar

My only point is this. However well or badly his business models have worked, the man can cook. The food, in the last three, I think, incarnations has been good. I see take out to take home for dinner from here. I'm going to try.
