Re: Sunday lunch

Do a search on this site - a bunch of us have been many times and have links to great pics of the different dishes. Check out Mrs. Fury's posts and Jeeves.

The shrimp remoulade is outstanding. Have fun, I'm envious.

Re: Coffee question

Jane that's an interesting thought. I'll bet Bob will weigh in on it soon. I think that if you're curious about the result you ought to try this method first, because...

I love all of those, cstoehr.... Ruth Rendell is a good author, very Brit. I'm pretty sure I've read all of Mary Higgins Clark. Have you tried Barbara Michaels? Good stuff.

Re: Books books books!!

kc, if you like fun characters, try Lawrence Sanders, the McNalley series.

Ask Doug for some recommendations on historical fiction/biographies, if you don't mind. I haven't read any of those in a long time, and I've always enjoyed them.

Books books books!!

One of my favorite places in the world, (besides the kitchen or a great restaurant) is the library, and has been since I was a small child.

These days I read strictly for escapism... loving a good mystery. What do ya'll read, and what do you recommend?

Re: Goodbye Guiding Light

I heard this rumor too.... when is it supposed to end? Because it's still going strong. I rarely watch it anymore though, after all these years, lol... it had gotten TOOOOOOO stOOOOOOpid, even for a die hard fan like me. Reva's "Movie life story" kinda did it for me.

Re: Marinating Myths

I've noticed over the years that marinades don't penetrate much. They do add a good surface taste though, especially in grilling. I've always heard to be careful marinating shrimp or fish... that the acid in the lemons "cooks" it. I have a quickee "marinade" (is it a marinade if ...

Gosh Jerry that sounds wonderful. I don't think I've ever had oysters and chicken together like that. Thanks!

Re: Pancho's

Before we go take a nap, LOL, I had to tell you how much we enjoyed this meal, ratcheese. DEEEElicious, and a blast to make, too. It was funny trying to fold the tortillas in half though.... do these look all right? They sure were good, but I fried them a lot longer than five seconds. http://img382....

Re: Pancho's

ratcheese.... SMOOCH SMOOCH SMOOCH! (I'm forward, what can I say?) lol Ok, my mouth is absolutely watering. I'm off to the store today to buy the ingredients. I've read and reread your instructions... hahaha... I'll let you know how many tortillas go to the circular file along the way. Actually, it ...
