time to ditch DSL?

I am soliciting opinions about Cox cable modem service. I have used Bellsouth/ATT DSL since the earliest days, but have had mounting connectivity issues in the past several months, particularly in evenings and weekends. I'm only three blocks from an ATT substation. The last suggestion from tech supp...

Re: Middendorf's O-fest Menu posted

Oh man, I thought it was the OBAMA-Fest menu. I was going to order more than I planned on eating and let the guy at the next table over pay for it. Ha, different menu, JAG. Nothing official leaked from the Xavier kitchen folks yet, but look for these favorites: ACORN soup Small (and getting smaller...

Middendorf's Oktoberfest Menu posted

Oktoberfest in Germany starts 9/18. It is not too early to plan for a road trip to the best German food in town these days. Last year I had the Schwäbischer Hochzeitsbraten - fantastisch! Don't worry, you can still order off the regular menu if you gots to have your catfish, etc. Oktober 6 & 7 S...

EC, that's what I assumed and your answer certainly makes perfect sense, but I would think that someone local like a Besh/Link/etc. could swing that and figure some way to make the numbers work. But maybe not. That's why I'm not in the restaurant biz!

Did you really expect this self-absorbed, ego-maniacal drama queen to sit out the season? He'll meet the same fate in just over 3 weeks that he met this past January. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=POlboWtgMI4&feature=player_embedded# ! Love it! Ladies and Gentlemen, your WORLD CHAMPION New Orl...

Cannon's folds, new chain to open

Nothing official here folks, but I noticed upon my return from yet another week's hiatus from NOLA today that the Cannon's on St. Charles was empty and showing signs of renovation. There's a tweet from @ChefMarySonnier indicating yet another chain is to move in (NO Hamburger & Seafood). What a d...

Re: Baton Rouge Galatoire's moving?

I never got that site selection either. I understand that CC of La. is out there and some affluent zip codes, but it was in East Jesus as far as the leg types and downtown dealmakers were concerned. Towne Center is much more central and also near the Old Metairie-like Jeff. Place/Bocage neighborhood.
