I still say "carnival" is old school, as I said my parents and (late) grandparents always used that term. I agree one doesn't hear it as much now, with the current generation (myself excluded HA).

Technically it appears poor boy was the original term, that said, it certainly morphed into poboy, which is what most people say now (one rarely hears poor boy).
