Re: Cherry Blossom Sushi in Kenner

SO had craving for sushi, so we decided to try China Blossom, partly based on reviews on this, and other, forums. It's located in the site formerly occupied by the all-you-could-eat pizza buffet (CiCi's IIRC) on Veterans. We were able to park right in front and when we entered there were only three ...

Re: Webster's Restaurant

Have not been in a few years, but the food was typical of a late night eatery (a la Denny's). But don't forget about Peppermill and City Diner for breakfast. Also, Zeke's used to have a pretty good breakfast as well.

Re: Jason at City Diner

Ah, I forgot about The Store, someone reported before (maybe you?) that this dish was great. I've never heard of grilled shrimp being called grillades, but I am willing to not let that stop me! Sounds wonderful! I hope Jason has tweaked the grits a bit. Please say you have! DOH.......Isabella, you'...

Re: Jason at City Diner

My first choice off the new menu will be Grillades & Grits. Not trying to hijack this thread, and I haven't tried them at City Diner yet, but the best Grits and Grillades that I've had, other than my own, was at The Store in the CBD, a couple of blocks from Shell Square. Super creamy grits and ...

Re: Learning Chinese

As bdavid said, "It's not cheap", but before I went out to buy it, I'd check to see if it was available in the library.

Re: Jason at City Diner

I was out running errands this morning with my daugher and we stopped in there for lunch. I couldn't get that soft shell crab sandwich out of my mind since I found out about it yesterday. It was worth the wait! Not a particularly large body, but the legs and claws were huge, and it was perfectly fri...

Jason at City Diner

I had the pleasure of meeting Jason from City Diner today, and we talked for a few minutes. Really enjoyed the time conversing with him. He's releasing a new menu and it looks impressive. I guess I better break out the Sans-a-belt slacks again!!!!!

Contact Jason over at City Diner. He just may be the answer to your catering needs.

Re: New Orleans Leads the Nation in Roofers turned Restauranteurs

Ratcheese, You could try Taqueria Corona and Casa Garcia. While their menus are mostly Americanized, they both have some fairly authentic dishes. I guess a lot of it depends on what you like and what you order. There used to be a small Mexican place on the West Bank, that was several blocks from the...
