Re: Is Fitzmorris Delusional?
I try not to say anything bad about anybody on internet message boards... It just doesn't seem like there's any shortage of that. However, I had to stop reading and comment on this thread when I read this from Tom: "The only way [the sirloin strip] could have been made better would be by cuttin...

Re: Houston Recs
I'm glad to hear your meal at Rainbow Lodge went well. It's practically down the street from where I live so I need to go back and give it a try with the new chef. I'm also glad to hear that you had a good meal at Cyclone Anaya's. The head chef there has had a a rather tumultuous recent history and,...

Re: Houston Recs
Rainbow Lodge has changed chefs since this thread started. I haven't been since the changeover, but I've heard good things. I was just at Shade for brunch a few weeks ago. The food was good, but we had pretty bad service. I'd be willing to chalk that issue up to a bit of bad luck, but it does still ...

Re: Feast of Houston coming to New Orleans
I've only been to Feast once and I've been to Cochon multiple times. While there is a similar emphasis on preparing off the beaten path cuts of meat, the style of cuisine is very different, with Feast having a more restrained approach to seasoning. Both restaurants do incredible things with pork of ...

Feast of Houston coming to New Orleans
I don't know if many of you are familiar with Feast, a restaurant in Houston that has been widely celebrated in both the local and national press. However, if you're interested in the type of cooking made famous by Fergus Henderson, you'll be able to sample it without slogging up I-10 as they announ...

Nope. Then again, yesterday might just as well have been another day here in Houston.

Re: Anyone going to Bourdain?
I say this without any malice and with all due respect for the guy, but I am pretty sure that if the money is right, Bourdain will show up just about anywhere this side of a Rachel Ray and Sandra Lee Christmas special.Gourmondo wrote: Seems like a strange venue for someone like him.
