Re: Greece
Jealous! I know you'll have a wonderful time. The food is fabulous. I haven't been in the last several years so I don't have any specifics to suggest, but I don't think I've ever had a bad meal in Greece. Wonderful seafood -- fish, squid, shellfish, etc. Fresh and grilled -- so simple, so perfect, s...

Re: Late lunch on Sunday, need recs
What about Green Goddess? They are open 'til 3:30 for brunch . . . .if she really is spending her whole trip in Metairie, I think you should eat in the Quarter. Even if you were to walk through the Quarter from Domenica, that's not exactly the prettiest part of the Quarter that she'd be seeing first...

Re: Hansen's has to put crack in their sno blitz
For me the crack-y Hansen's is nectar cream. I honestly do think Hansen's ice is seriously better than anyplace else . . . .it's really a superior snowball.

Re: Meauxbar-"pre theater" FYI
This city really does not make it easy to live here sometimes, I must say. I apologize -- I am the one who said the whole area was lit up like Christmas with the park open and people strolling through during an event at the theatre, because I have personally witnessed it that way numerous times sinc...

Re: Serious eating with a toddler in tow
Suzy and Jeeves, I appreciate your support. And I'd like to point out to everyone else that I didn't ask for fine dining establishments, romantic restaurants, or $150/night places. I asked for possible ideas for both "casual and nicer" places. And I gave some suggestions of places that I e...

Serious eating with a toddler in tow
I have some good friends coming in town soon for their first-ever visit to New Orleans. I am very eager to show them a wonderful time and have them experience a lot of our fabulous food. They are bringing their 21-month-old daughter with them. Since I do not have children, I know absolutely nothing ...

Re: Madrid featured in a recent blog post?
Thanks, you're right -- I found it. I read so many blogs and boards and things, and I knew I had seen it but just couldn't remember where. I did a search this morning for it and didn't turn up anything, and Tom's web site has links to the back issues but no way to search them, apparently . . .apprec...

Madrid featured in a recent blog post?
Was I dreaming or did I recently see Madrid restaurant on Harrison featured on someone's blog? I'm talking like in the last week or so. I can't seem to find it now . . . .
