Don't forget you can bring in a one liter bottle of unopened water. Much cheaper than anything you can buy inside the Fest.

Second for Plum Street. Plum St Snowballs. I don't mind listing them because their lines are usually too long for me to get one anyway. I don't do lines much anymore. Did one yesterday morning at Surrey's, for my wife's sake and I'm still bitching about it. Plum St. has a website, I had it for you b...

Re: Orleans Grapevine
Forgive my English. I meant that they have a great courtyard and that the restaurant is a romantic place to dine. I haven't eaten in the courtyard either.

Re: Cafe Degas
This is one of our neighborhood go-to places (Lola's is the other). I think we get the same thing every time, french onion soup, cheese & pate platter, and the hanger steak. However, the service is always, how should I say, French? They really don't seem to care that you are there or what you wa...

Re: Orleans Grapevine
I have been several times. We really like the place, it has a good wine list and the menu has plenty of great appetizers as well as everything else. It can get busy but the service has always been good. They have a great courtyard and we have found it to be a romantic place to dine.

Re: Green Goddess
Agreed. The food is good but the price is a bit hard to swallow. We went for lunch last week. I had the cuban sandwich and my wife had a half wedge of salad and the oyster soup. They are very creative and it works very well. The down side of our meal was, as already mentioned, the duck fat fries. Th...

Mama's Tasty Chicken (Louisiana & Carondelet) Mike's Mid City (Canal off of Carrollton). I really miss the cozy neighborhood feel and the burgers. Katie's in Mid City. I know its opening back up sometime in the future. I hope it's as good but its always hard to say after so much time and with ne...

Re: Lox & Bagels
We have H&H Bagels. We also now have 4 different kinds of salmon: 1. Coastal Harbor Smoked Atlantic Salmon 2. Osie's Hand Sliced Belly Nova 3. Acme Salty Lox (Side) 4. Acme Belly Lox Are you looking for smoked salmon or "lox"? I have two questions: 1. What do you mean when you differe...

Lox & Bagels
Our family Christmas brunch tradition includes lox & bagels. However, I have been hard pressed to find any of either with any quality. Can anyone make suggestions of where to look?
