Anyone else see the message from "admin" over there!!!! It seems that there is still at least one person still there...........And they claim some big changes are in store ("there will be a pretty big change, very very soon.. working on it as we speak...")
I guess they don't realize that the sound they are hearing is an echo.

Too little, too late. I guess that it took this mass exodus for them to realize that people were growing tired of that site and all of it's problems.
I'm happy RIGHT HERE! :)

Again, Screw 'em.
They ignored many, many requests for help, explanations, and concerns.
This is the new board.

I participate on a lot of forums and many of them have overlapping members, but I try not to go to one forum then diss it on another one....but I will say...I did see that. There has been a mass exodus and maybe now they are concerned. It was silly to ignore everyone for that long if they really were interested in keeping their members....and I think I'll go tell them that now.

I agree wholeheartly about this being the new board. I just continue to check over there until I'm sure everyone is over here. It seems there are still some stragglers over there and even some that are here still post there.
To paraphrase Terry (Marlon Brando) They (TOB) "coulda been a contender"!

Woooboy that place is dead.
I swear, every word typed from an admin or mod over there is condescending and obnoxious... that latest post is insulting... how obscure can you be? What a NON-answer.
You bettcha your sweet fannies there are big changes a' comin'. The lights are about to get turned off.
I am done with that site and just posted as much on the talk food forum under Amarone's post.
Lets get this party started over here.

Last post on the Food board was at 6.59 am and it's 10.24 am now. Fading fast.

I love it.
Lorin was pretty strongly defending TOB yesterday. I don't understand why.

Our impression was that she was more standing up for Kimba. Still being affiliated with them, she's got to take the prudent course, and not knock the place, at least publicly. We were always just perplexed as to whether it was a matter of they wouldn't, couldn't, or weren't being allowed to address the issues.

Politics as usual.
That forum has been through numerous incarnations, for no apparent reason, and all destructive to prior content.
Pleas for help, and questions to admins have all gone unheeded.
As soon as the dust settles, and the audience has finally adjusted, the software is changed again. And again. And yet again.
Typical Dilbert management intervention, attempting a solution to a problem that doesn't exist; change for change's sake.
Oh well.
Stupid is as stupid does.

The Admin here reminds me of Charlie (for those who aren;t wee tikes and remember) Charlie's Angels tv show, they always talked to Charlie through the "box" All the viewer saw was the back of his head, and a bikini clad chick delivering him a Martini.
So, we don't know if the Admin is Charlie like, or the chick, but great job nonetheless!

It's changed owners a few times too. I remember the change when Sal was still an admin. Now again.

It changed owners once, and that was recently, but the company has had many, many, many changes in management. I started there as a web developer and three weeks later became CTO by default!

She also has a contract with New Orleans.com. Not much you can say when you are an indentured servant. It is ashame too because of all their moderators, she was the one that put the most into the site. I do suspect that the en masse defection could be a material change in circumstances that might void the contract.

It aint easy being affiliated with nocom. I actually had to handle all of TF's bannings. It was a rather distasteful part of the job, especially with him "tommenting" other peoples posts. I wanted to ban him, but I also had to pay a mortgage - Grr.
My apologies to Bam Bam , Ridgely, CoastRat, ... and many others.

So how did the Fitzbannings take place? Did he just order you to ban these people? Was there an review or was his word the law? And when did management realize Fitz was the problem?
Inquiring minds want to know.

fitzbannings - LOL To funny. I will elaborate on this more one day. Perhaps when I know it won't wind up on a blog.
Short answer is he would email a list with reasons, I consulted management, was told to do what he wanted.

Fitzmorris is the most pathetic example of ANYTHING this town has ever seen.
I sincerely pity your having to subjugate yourself to his whims.
What a seriously cowardly worm of a human being.
I love it.

BINGO!
What was the reason for my banning the first time? Not cowering to his "threatening" PM's?

I do not remember. That 6 months of my life is like one big confusing nightmare. He seldom gave any reason except for "these cranks have gone to far" or something like that.

If you had kept good notes, you could have written a book. The book would have been wildly popular on the New Orleans forum scene!
