Just because I don't have enough sh*t in my life right now, (cough cough).... I thought I'd throw this out there...

It bothers me a lot that the clergy of many denominations have become so vocal in this election. Our country was founded by religious folks who were escaping the politics of government, in order to separate themselves and worship in peace. A SEPARATION as it were.

And who the heck decided that God wants a Republican in office?

What worries me the very most is that I suspect that all this religious fervor has more to do with thinly disguised racism.

Bill Jefferson has used the clergy to get elected on numerous occassions. How these so called men of God can endorse someone as crooked as Jefferson is beyond me!

Yep, and considering the tie in with Barack and his racist ignorant church, I would say the problem is much more of an issue with inner city churches becoming very involved in the push to get their boy elected instead of the passive efforts of some of the white churches.

Either way I don't care for it and wish it would stop. All of it.

As far as Jefferson...I have no comment. Mommy said if I didn't have anything nice to say....

As for the national election and the Catholics, they almost always go for the Republican candidate. Similar conservative values. My experience in Mass though is that the Priest does not say 'who' to vote for but what 'values' to vote for and that is the Republican candidate. It's simply the conservative values of the church.

That's my oppinion and experience anyway.
