The power supply on my Blackberry reads:
Output:5v = 700ma
The power supply for my Garmin watch reads:
Output: 5.0v = 0.35a 1.75w
The connectors are the same...Would these be interchangeable based on the above info?
Thanks

If the connector is a mini-USB, it should work. I use the chargers for my Moto cell phone on my BB with no problems, and both with the same USB-to-USBmini cable on my computer.

The output of the Blackberry supply (700 ma) is about twice the capability of the of the Garmin (0.35 amps = 350 ma). I interpret this as the blackberry supply has enough cabapility to charge either the Blackberry or the Garmin units, while the Garmin supply has the capability for the Garmin but not for the Blackberry.

I could also be lucky b/c the amperage requirement of both my phone and BB are not all that dissimilar. There are quite a few variables involved, depending on the design of both the chargers in question, and that of the devices' charging circuits. The worst case scenario is a charger, without a limiting circuit, of lower amperage output being plugged into a higher amperage-drawing device and overheating the charger to the point of failure (or fire).

Thanks guys. I think I may just go ahead and order a back up charger for the BB, I was just hoping that I got lucky, too.
Between the BB, my camera, my Garmin, my IPOD, and my Blue Tooth headset I have quite a mess of power supplies.
I think I saw a spider style "charging station" in SkyMall, I might have to look into that.
....but I'd be facing the same question-If there is but one MiniUSB plug-do I assume that the power supply has a built in current limiter which detects the amperage needed from the device it is plugged into?
(I typed and retyped that and it still seems awfully confusing and terribly incorrect grammatically...:covri: )

We don't allow any points to be taken away for grammar here. There are different width mini-USB plugs, digital cameras usually take a narrower version, but the USB standard is 5vDC. While I can't unequivocally say you're good to go, I myself might be tempted go the route of plugging the lower-amperage charger into the higher-draw device, and see if a) charging actually ensues, or b) the charger gets overly hot. If the use of a single charger for both is merely a matter of convenience, I'd have to advise erring on the side of caution.

This would do the trick....http://www.callpod.com/en_US/static/images2/chargepod-640x360.jpg
