I simply adore HBO's "True Blood". Only saw the first episode. Have the other one DVR'd. I'm hooked already. The hot vampire probably has something to do with it. ;)

Also crazy about FX's "Sons of Anarchy".

Good stuff!

Midway through the second episode of Six Feet Under, I told Mrs. Slow, who hadn't watched episode one, she might be passing up something really good. Ultimately, she agreed, and it became one of her all-time favorites. She's trying to return the favor this season with True Blood, of which I have only watched epsiode two, at her behest. I'm not sure yet if Alan Ball has another SFU on his hands, but I'll give it a few more viewings before casting my vote.

SOA started already - darn! That was meant to be added to my TIVO list. I am also looking forward to the last season of The Shield.

Oh, honey.... the Shield has shown 3 episodes already. :(

(Gonna be a doozy..... Vic is turning the Armenians against the Mexicans).

Use your TIVO and do a search, Alex. They'll probably do a "marathon".

Just finished watching LAST WEEK's True Blood. What a neat show.

I loved seeing Community Coffee, and got great delight in seeing a tabloid headline: "Angelina Adopts Vampire Baby". What fun!

I'm really crushing on that vampire, Bill! :)

watched The Shield last night - it was awesome. What a great show!! I missed last season and was worried I would not know what is going on, but same ole Vic and Shane. Dutch is still an idiot - lol.

I always thought him to be portrayed as socially inept, but actually a pretty sharp detective.

Agreed - perhaps idiot was the wrong term.

Sons of Anarchy was great last night! I hope the ratings hold up and they can keep this one on for a few seasons.

I agree, my friend. We can be happy that it's an FX ORIGINAL, as opposed to a CBS show! ;)

Anyone been watching America's Greatest Talent? (He says hiding his head!)

America's Got Talent. They're down to the Top 5, and at least two of them really need to stay on their anti-depressant meds. All boils down to who is Vegas-worthy.

Neil E. "Opera Guy" Boyd - Lots of heart, but Vegas, no.
Donald Braswell - Great voice. If only Lawrence Welk was still hiring. He'd have a 20-year gig.
Queen Emily - I think she's been sandbagging. smokinggun.com will out her as a 20-year veteran of James Brown's back-up group.
Nuttin' But Stringz - If these guys went to Juilliard, they're not showing it here. Every performance sounds the same as the last. But they're the most "Vegas" of the remaining bunch, and the judges love them.
Eli Mattson - Hope the humble isn't an act. He has our vote.

I was re-watching the re-run of the CSI season-ender last night, where Warrick gets killed (gravely wounded?), and there was Jay Karnes, The Shield's Dutch Wagenbach, playing an Internal Affairs officer interrogating Warrick. An IMDB search revealed the character's name was "IA Officer Wagenbach", and also that Jay Karnes is apparently a regular on Sons Of Anarchy.

I thought I saw him (Karnes) on SOA when I rewatched an episode last night. I also read that Sprauge Grayden is in the cast of SOA, but I have not seen her yet. She is the little cutie that played Heather in Jericho.

Yes, and in keeping with the whole "six degrees" thing, she was also in 12 episodes of SFU. IMDB is your friend:

Thanks LNS - I did not remember her being in that show.

Me, neither. I'm still trying to figure out who she was. A friend of Claire's, I guess. She was apparently on for multiple seasons.

The (self taught) opera singer won America's Got Talent. Quietest night ever for the Judges.

I didn't watch the show this season, but caught the guy singing at the end. He was awesome and deserved to win.

Admin. Are you having better luck picking football winners? :D

Sorry. Just had to mention it. I do agree the "best Vegas show" would be the combination of 1,3,4,5 above. Donald would do well to get a crack at Phantom when the current actor finishes his run (assuming he can act as well as sing).

Are you guys still watching TRUE BLOOD on HBO?

I started catching up today. Just watched episode 3. My god, is that the most erotic show on television? It was a 1 hour f*ck-fest. :D I think I'd do vampire Bill, myself! :whip:

I'm hooked-

Happy Saturday, gang!

I did not elect to upgrade to COX digital cable and can receive any premium channels. I missed out on the end of Rome, The sopranos, and The Wire. Basic cable is getting a lot better though, and when I get an HDTV I will get satellite or digital cable.

We haven't graduated to HI DEF yet, either. Prices seem to be steadily dropping, and our tvs look just fine for now.

We've had DISH NETWORK for many years and just love it, Alex. Neighbor had DIRECT TV for a year and got rid of it. Just something to consider. One of the things that infuriated him was that they'd crank up the commercials, practically blowing him out of the room ;)

---------------------------------

from Spague's blog today:

Hello all,

It has been brought to my attention that some of you would like to know, 1) exactly what episodes of SOA I am in, and 2) If I am in the 24 Prequel.

Unfortunately I can't answer either of those questions because I can't leak any plot details for either show. I thank you so much for supporting both shows and I hope you're enjoying them!!

Sprague

About Jeff Karnes:

He is playing the part of an ATF agent on SOA, and has history with one the women who used to date a memeber of SOA. He appears to be somewhat of a stalker/LEO - interesting combination.

Make sure to set your DVR/VCR for Sons of Anarchy for its' rebroadcast tonite.

If you're like us, you'll be watching that effing debate that's screwing up my television schedule! ;)

(Gawd, I hope that Mad McCain rips Obama a new one tonite!- if he doesn't, Republicans, Conservatives and Libertarians are gonna be hurtin' little cowboys come election day) :(

Alex, I just love FX. They really put out some good original series, don't they? I'm glad that they've renewed Sons.

I envy you guys who have high speed and can watch shows on the internet....out here in the middle of nowhere, I'm stuck with dial-up....I can't even watch You Tube. *pouting*

FX does a pretty good job with their original programming. I sent them an email thanking them, the networks need that kind of feedback because Nielsen is so antiquated.

This weeks episodes of The Sheild and Sons of Anarchy were the best yet this season.

The Shield is building up to a big finish. I am hoping Shane gets whacked and Vic winds up alright, but I have a feeling that will not be the case.

Last nights episode of Sons of Anarchy was some of the most brilliant acting and writing that I have on TV in some time (not counting premium channels of which I have none). I am actually gonna say, Sons of Anarchy (SAMCRO) is the my favorite show to come out since the demise of Jericho! Sprauge Grayden was great as usual, Katey Sagal was great, and should be nominated for an emmy, and the chick playing Agent Stahl (Ally Walker) is awesome as well!
