There's a lot of people that make a living beating Bobby up (CB Forgoston, and Gambit's Clancy Dubos to name just 2).
I have not been able to hear many of the press conferences yesterday and today but the two I heard, I thought Bobby was on top of his game.
Without getting too touchy/feely, it wasn't only the content of what he said, and he said a lot, but there was more too it. He spoke as if we, as citizens, deserved to hear exactly what was going on in government and what their exact problem areas were and the what needed to be addressed, and praised! Never condescending or patronizing.
But he also spoke with an air of authority that left me feeling that they were on top of everything.
Is the heat from lack of air conditioning getting to me or what?

Blanco was the dumbest person ever elected to anything anywhere. But Clancy Dubos thought she did a godd job.
Jindal did a good job on this one. Blanco was not capable of dealing with this kind of stuff.

The general consensus among the non-partisan, politically astute is that Blanco, whatever her shortcomings, was an improvement upon Foster. Do you Republicans disagree with that? Are you suggesting Foster would have done a better job during Katrina? If so, why, specifically?

Curious to see how Bobby's critics respond.
I was let down that the reform session did not go farther/deeper than anticpated but at the same time that is a singly one-sided facet of running government. (Before you criticize, yes, I do believe and advocate honesty in government.)
Jindal needs to improve with regard to that but his actions during Gustav show that he is playing with a full and organized deck.

Are you numbering yourself among the non-partisans?
Kind of hard to tell how Foster would have reacted, but I have to believe it would have been with at least the most minimum level of competence. In other words, much better than Blanco. I don't think we need to rehash all her fumbles.
All I can tell you is that with Hurricanes Gustav and Katrina, you have an apples-to-apples comparison of the actions two governors took to both prepare for and manage the aftermath of two highly destructive hurricanes.
Hindsight, schmindsight. It's been known for decades what impact a direct hit on New Orleans could mean. I don't question the decision to provide shelter at the Superdome. But I have nothing but scorn for the execution. If that had been the plan for Gustav, I think it's safe to say that food, water, medicine, sanitation facilities, communications gear and ample security would have been pre-positioned by Governor Jindal to provide for the needs of those taking shelter at the Dome.

Sorry - feeling kinda fuzzy-headed. I question the assessment that Blanco was an improvement on Foster. In what regard? Foster was definitely an improvement on Edwards. He defeated Cleo Fields and Dollah Bill Jefferson. Which of those would you have preferred?
