I have had four lunches at this place now. The first time I had the free range chicken with mushroom and wine sauce with mashed potatoes and green beans. Pretty good but for $15.95 I doubt I will be having it again for a while. I like their lunch specials. Every day you have a choice of about three different things. The chicken parmesan is good. My friend had a steak sandwich (huge hunk o'meat) which he said was ok but he liked my chicken parm better. Today I had the potato soup (really liked it) and grilled chicken salad. Hubby had the hamburger steak which he said was more like meatloaf. I tasted it, he was right. By 12:30 they had run out of two of the lunch specials. The regular menu items are $5.95 & up and the specials are $6.95. It's decent food at a great price.

I forgot to say where it is. It's in the Ambassador Hotel at the corner of Tchoup and Lafayette. Oops.

Thanks for taking me there last week, Mrs. F. I was sorry to see The Diplomat go, as you were, but it seems U. S. Prime will fill in very well for them. Parking is easy across Tchoup street and U. S. Prime's staff is very welcoming. I've only sampled the daily lunch special menu once so far and the crawfish and corn soup and their shrimp creole was most lovely! Shrimp creole isn't something I'd ordinarily order in a restaurant, but on your recomendation I did so at U. S. Prime and came away fat and happy. Let's go back!
