As I ate my omelet at Cafe Freret this morning, I see that the T-P is endorsing Cedric Richmond for Congress. A T-P endorsement is often a good reason not to vote for someone, but does anyone have any opinions pro or con on him...or anyone else running? All I know is Bill has to go. Pundits seem to think he'll make the Dem runoff despite everything, but I've spoken to a couple of members of his church (Greater St. Stephen) and thay say even the faithful are looking elsewhere this time. They said it's one thing to claim a conspiracy when it's just you as victim, but when sister and brother, etc. are all involved that argument held no more sway. We shall see.

The disciplinary board of the Louisiana bar recommended suspending his license for a year for fraudulently claiming to live in District D so he could run for City Council. He introduced HB 68, which would have trampled the rights of law-abiding gun owners even more than Clinton's idiotic Assault Weapons Ban, and he was one of two schmoes that finally rammed the bill designating the Sazerac as The Official Cocktail of New Orleans.
Other than that, I think he's a great guy and you should vote for him.
I saw City Councilman James Carter @ the Louisiana Children's Museum fundraiser last night, and he's running for the same seat. The only knowledge I have about him is that a) he has the largest skull of any human being I have ever seen, and b) he's not Cedric Richmond.
Advantage: Carter.

I'd like to make her squeal. My only reservation is that it is Congress MAN and not Congress Woman. And that is a proven scientific fact.
I should also mention I know James Carter fairly well from the practice of law. He's a pretty good guy and yes he does have a gianormous cranium.
