He's releasing a new album after a very long hiatus, covering U2, Tom Petty, and others.

IMHO, he's a very underrated artist and guitarist.

Go Glen!

Maybe this?

A Top 10 Hit in 1968, written and performed by Mason Williams, who, coincidentally, was head writer on the Smothers Brothers show.

Sorry, Mac-

The first thing that comes to mind is when Pat Boone became "cool" with a new rock and roll album.

You mean "In A Metal Mood" (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000005KOE/nolaeats-20)?

I dunno if I'd describe Glen Campbell as an "underrated" guitarist. Competent, good, but he certainly doesn't belong in the upper ranks of the Guitar Pantheon.

Have you not experienced the magic that is Esteban?!

Yeah, maybe a little too magical. Seriously, if you are fan of fingerstyle playing, Andy McKee has insane skills.

Andy McKee is unbelievable, no question.
Glen Campbell is not even in the same galaxy as him, but as a kid, I loved his music.
I'm glad to see him cleaning up his act and releasing a new album.
I wish I had half the talent he still has.

Not to mention he was nailing Tanya Tucker.

The living definition of "Rode hard; put away wet".

He played an open air concert at a plantation near hear two years ago. He should have stayed in rehab. His daughter was good, though.

The first thing I think of when Glen Campbell is mentioned is Rhinestone Cowboy and Witchita Lineman........

Old thread, but caught Glen on Leno last nite giving Foo Fighters' "Times Like These" a country-lite treatment. He was in good voice, didn't look too out of it, but I tuned in late, and it seemed he might have been the "after-thought musical act who closes the show but doesn't get to sit on the couch and talk to Jay".
