Like many people my age I have been trying to watch my cholesterol. I like mayo on sandwiches but thought the fat free and low cal versions tasted like wall paper paste. I just got a jar of the Hellmann's canola mayo and am happy to report that it is very good and almost as tasty as the real thing. It has no cholesterol and a pretty good flavor....I think it will be good in salads as well as on sandwiches.

I LOVE Hain mayo, when I use it, it's safflower oil. Whole Foods has it, and Save a Center had it before it was Rouse's.

I'm not "into" mayo, so can't give you any input on that, BUT.....
I had a neighbor who claimed that CANOLA OIL was horrid for your health. He was adamant about it.... enough so that I changed to "VEGETABLE OIL". I never did Google the issue, but as he's a judge (well educated and health conscious), I believe him.
You might want to look into the health aspects of Canola, Great Danish....just saying. ;)

Thanks for the heads up on that, I will look into it. Well at least now I know about the safflower oil mayo that Suzy recommends.

Dragongrrl thanks for the link - I was kinda bummed thinking that I had found a dud. Guess Hellmann's is a savvy and large enough company that they would have researched this before marketing it anyway…do blow-dryers still cause cancer? LOL.

Apparently Canola Oil was a problem until they worked it out. So I think, Nanette, that you were right to say something. We can always search.
