What's funny is that McCain has reversed himself on so many of the positions that brought him such praise in the first place. I believe most if not all of those clips are a few years old. McCain in 2000 was someone to admire; now, not so much.

I have still not come around to Obama, but at least many of the Dems (though not all of them) are enthusiastic about the guy. How many Republicans are excited about McCain? Pretty much zero. Maybe they're agitated against Obama, but that just ain't the same thing.

Well, count me as a Republican for McCain. I have admired the guy and been a supporter since long before 2000. I believed then, and believe now, that he is the leader we need for President.

Conservatives do not want McCain but are smart enough to know that Obama is an absolute disaster.
Clinton won in 1992 because Conservatives voted for Perot in protest of Bush. That option does not exist this time because Clinton was just a womanizer, not a Marxist.
99% of all conservatives, the majority of independents and a good number of Democrats WILL vote for McCain. The alternative is unthinkable.

Obama is a Marxist?
Hmmm, I thought he was a Radical Muslim Terrorist dedicated to the overthrow of the United States as proven by his refusal to wear a lapel pin.
It's very confusing.

One of my best friends is pretty conservative and she just echoed the same sentiment to me last week. In 10 years, I had never heard her mention McCain once.
I am voting against Obama because I am a racist.

Independent for Obama.
I resolved early on to vote Democratic this election. After taking a hard look at the candidates, I went with Biden. After he fell out and it was between Hillary and Obama, I supported Hillary. Now that it's Obama v. McCain, I'm going with Obama.
The reason it took me so long to line up behind Obama has to do with the same reservations other people have about the man. His lack of experience, his thin resume, the fact that this guy is essentially an unknown commodity with no track record. Not exactly the ideal candidate to entrust with the most powerful job on the planet. And McCain's a guy I've kind of liked over the years.
Still, having said all that. . . Independent for Obama.

Watch out...........Hillary is now vowing to put her name out there for the nomination. (I saw a blurb on tv this morning getting ready for work so do not have details) What is she thinking?

I think that Bill is doing the thinking for her. Just finished a great story in most recent Vanity Fair about her failed campaign.
I absolutely DESPISE those two. I can't even look at either of them without a feeling of disgust.

I would not want to speculate on what that woman is thinking. From what I read she is doing it to help Obama, but I really just skimmed the article, so I am not sure.

Keep that thought!
And be respectful and call a man by his proper name - Barack Hussein Obama II

I'm really curious - not trying to be a smartass at all. How do you reconcile those two statements? Because you've made a good case as to why to NOT vote for Obama, so I'm really curious to know what about him or his platform you DO like.

Hi, new here.
Not sure if this is the right thread to say I am supporting Obama.
But not rabid about it. :)
Wish the Clintons would go buy an island and stay there ! :D
Believe the cheese is slipping off the bread where Sen. McCain is concerned.
Think we will all be tired of all concerned by Nov. 4th

Sadly, I'll be voting for "Mad McCain" in November. Swore I wouldn't do it. Had every intention of "throwing my vote away" to the Libertarians.
*sighing*
The more I hear about Obama, the more I can't stand the guy.
I'm gritting my teeth and voting AGAINST Obama. (Like effing deja vu....did the same thing with Dole, G.W., etc.) :(
What a sad state, huh?

Perhaps he is good at multitasking.

Yeah, yeah! That's the ticket! *grinning thinking of Jon Lovitz on SNL years and years ago..... probably before your time, dear Alex* :)

Gee, nationally we cancel each other out :D:D
But my state is always Red so I don't really count :(

That's so funny that you mention "canceling each other out".
I used to take my MIL to vote. She's now 94.
It got to the point where I wanted to tell her to get her own effing ride..... I'd be voting Republican and she'd be voting Democrat. :)
Being the nice gal that I'm in, I continued to drive her to the polls until she figured "the hell with it" at her age. ;)
