I just read this on yahoo and it cracked me up. I remember hearing that Joel Olsteen's wife got thrown off a Continental flight for a fuss with the stewardess over a stain on her first class seat but I didn't realize the stewardess was suing her. She claims that his wife shoved her and elbowed her in the left breast on purpose on her way into the bathroom. If that indeed happened, I could see criminal charges but I've never been a fan of money as a replacement for violence. But this is what really cracked me up:
"According to court documents, Brown claims that she suffers from anxiety and hemorrhoids because of the incident and said her faith was affected. She is also suing Osteen for medical expenses for counseling."
No where in my nursing career or any where else for that mattter, have I ever heard of someone getting hemorrhoids from being pushed or shoved. What is really laughable though is that she wants an apology and 10% of Osteen's net worth. Those are some expensive rhoids. :p

I would guess this settles out of court, before the jury gets a chance to get its hooks into the Osteen's!
Interesting, they call this "air rage", and opposed to "road rage"!
Why is a humble preacher who is following Jesus's way of life flying first class instead of walking or taking the bus? They must be one of those legitimate religions!

A friend of mine in Dallas, told me this afternoon, that 1) he has a huge following (congregation), and that 2) he preaches that if you are going to pray, you might as well pray for some good stuff (money, power, things) as well as praying for more intense things as someone getting well or helping the poor.

This isn't a comment on Joe Osteen,
just the over the top types in general
Perhaps, Ray Stevens said it best:

Too many crooks......they all end up getting it in the end.....Look at Falwell and Baker for example. The only rich ones are not the churches or charities but the cons...oops preachers.

I never heard of the Osteen's either, but I used to fly for one of these Evangelist Preachers with a humongous church in Northern LA some years back. This guy owned a $2 Million airplane, a MASSIVE house, and would wear alligator shoes, Gucci suits, etc... all while drinking cocktail after cocktail on the plane... These guys are jokes, well maybe the joke is on the idiots who continue to give them their money.

Can you believe (if you are talking about Jimmy Swaggart) that Airline Hwy motel incident happened in 1988!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I didn't know it was that long ago either.....
more trivia: And he's first cousins with Jerry Lee Lewis and Mickey Gilley....
Swaggert, I think.
Swaggert got busted once in N.O. and begged and got forgiveness from his flock, then got busted again in vegas with another hooker. Been a while, but I think that is how it happened.
During his prime, the U.S. postal service used to deliver his mail via 18 wheel trucks to his church. The money was rollin in so to speak.

An update from TMZ:
Jury Sides With God, Pastor's Wife Cleared
Posted Aug 14th 2008 3:46PM by TMZ Staff
Megachurch preacher's wife Victoria Osteen did not assault a flight attendant over a stain on her first class seat, a civil jury in Texas has ruled.
The jurors rejected Sharon Brown's claims that pastor Joel Osteen's wife caused her mental and physical harm -- even giving her hemorrhoids-- by going off on her on a 2005 flight from Houston to Vail, Colo.
Brown had said Miss Victoria went berserk when a spill on the armrest of her seat wasn't cleaned up quickly enough. Brown said the preacher's wife slammed her against the lavatory door, and elbowed her in the breast as she rushed the cockpit. A jury unanimously decided Brown's story was full of holy baloney and awarded her zilch.
Brown had sued for 10% of Osteen's net worth.
Legitimate Jesus guys win again.
I really thought the hemorrhoids would have clinched it for the victim.
