Has anybody driven by this lately. It appears to be finished, with no more work activity. I was told they are in a dispute with St. Tammany Parish over impact fees, which has delayed their opening.

That's a BIG, HUGE parcel of car lot.

The traffic down that service road has been horrendous for years.
I can't imagine the problems that will manifest when they open the doors.

190, as it is now, is a cluster-f*ck of a corridor; six uncoordinated traffic lights within a 2 mile stretch, and them right in the middle.

Ain't progress great?

Wholeheartedly agree about 190. Hwy 21 to I-12 is a nightmare as well. I don't have an "easy" short trip from Covington to Mandeville anymore. Either way has major traffic jams. It almost makes me miss most of happy hour if I don't leave work early. :D

You guys really, really have a rough way to go since your population boom after Katrina. :(

I use every excuse possible to stay away from Covington, Mandeville and Slidell. I had worked at the News Banner from '88-90. I can't imagine being an outside salesman in that mess. :shootself:

Yes, Yes Nanette!

I absolutely DREAD leaving my home and doing battle with traffic.
One learns quickly that once out on the highway, all advantages need to be utilized.

If gas is needed, even by a small amount, get it.
If groceries are needed, get 'em.

Do not, under any circumstances, arrive home, only to find that another dreaded trip is needed.

But copious amounts of alcohol, and canned/frozen/fresh food.
Buy a handgun.

I have NEVER seen so many pickup trucks with trailers attached.
If this is paradise, I'm ready to spew.

They need to open to pay for that huge azz place! A friend works at Honda of Covington and they sold 20 cars on Saturday.

I have decided to just start getting a $5 large for the ride home from now on and not worry........ :)
