So what happens to the poor schmuck that was named to replace him at QB? I think it's incredibly selfish of Favre to do this.

He is nothing but a media whore.
On the other hand, his replacement ain't very good.

This still can go three different ways. I'm for the trade.
Let Favre show he still has the right stuff (if he has) with another team that needs help.
Let Rodgers show why he's so much better for GB (if he is) than Favre.
I hear that the rest of the GB team wants Favre back, while the new coach thinks he is usless. Could be a lot of people will be proved wrong or right this season. Sit back and enjoy the fun. ;)

Personally, I think that our KILN-BILLY is getting a little long in the tooth.

GB's coach is entering his 3rd season with GB. Who is the new coach you are referring to?

I guarantee you the Packers will release him at the end of training camp. No way they pay him $12m to ride the pines.

Ummm, was a gamer! He knows it, the team knows it, the fans (well, all but you) know it.
Sure, he probably has a game or 2 left in the tank. No doubt. But he throws to the opposite colored jerseys enough, especially in the big games, to warrant his continued retirement.
I feel badly for the GB fans. They are truly good and neither want nor deserve this media circus.

OK, I'm an amateur, not a pro. :shootself:

2nd in MVP voting last year, and you think he has a game or two left in the tank? And you think I'm the blind one here?
Who's your favorite qb? JP Losman? :covri:

S'okay, Schuarta. It could've been worse. You could've said something as ridiculous as Brett Favre only has a game or two left in the tank.
I mean it's not like Minnesota, TB, Chicago, NYJ, Detroit and probably many other teams would immediately sign the guy if he was released, right? Favre's just so overrated.

Not only that, he is the former offensive coordinator of the Saints under Haslett. Not exactly known for his judgment of quarterbacks.

Now you're starting to make sense!

Al Gore's Nobel = Favre's 2nd place MVP? Do you think you are debating with a four year old?
Fruit for Favre? Now I think it is you who are the 4 year old.

Looks like Favre won't bne in GB after all. Leave it to Mike "I'm Errant ****s Bricks Boy" McCarthy to screw up this situation. I'm sure he'll do so much better with Rodgers.
Favre to TB? Looks likely at the moment. Hello prime time game for the Saints opener!
