What is Casino Cash?

I just noticed we all seem to have a $ value...what is that all about?

Have you been to this site's CASINO? Play blackjack, slot machine, etc.? It's the sum of what they gave you to start, plus what you may have won (or lost). :cool:

If you haven't been to the CASINO, it might be a gift ftom the ADMIN.

You don't have a value, you have a balance of play money to use in the Casino. Every new registrant starts with a set amount that's theirs to play with, in whichever Casino game they like. Other activities on the forum may or may not result in an increase that balance.

Please turn the casino off. Its stupid, slow and the games aren't calibrated at all for what a real deck would produce. I tried to see how fast I could blow through my cash at the blackjack table and it was silly. the blackjack odds vs. real odds were just outright ridiculous.

Its a silly detractor to the board, my vote is to dump it.

We advised up front that the Casino was offered on as as-is basis. (http://www.nolaeats.com/forum/showthread.php?t=291) No promises were made as to its abilities to mimic real-world gaming. No one is forced to use it. We are aware of what does and does not impact our available resources. It does not impinge on the normal operation of the regular forum in any way. If you don't care for it, just don't use it.

I've got a SLOW SLOW dial up, yet I've been able to have great fun with Texas Hold 'em.

There's an option for folks to transfer their cash..... hint hint :)

We're kind of amused b/c the typical reaction on TOB, when people voiced disagreement, was to invoke the old "just ignore it" rubric. Obviously, the reality is that people can't just ignore things. We're probably inclined to relegate the info in this case in future to being buried somewhere in public profiles, rather than in every post. We'll work on it.
