Just got back from an awesome 7 day trip to Napa Valley. Can I say we drank our way through the valley. Went to some boutique wineries too that you will never see here.

10 cases of wine being delivered in October:p

Highlights: Bremer, Frank Family Vineyards, Fleury, a new winery called Black Stallion and another new one called Alpha Omega.

Special Treats: Simi, private dinner and tasting for us, Hess, private tasting and cheese pairing, Provedence, private Mumm's Champagne tasting and breakfast, Markham, private tasting and dinner in the cave. Breakfast and tasting at Trinchero. Private dinner and tasting at Beringer.

Also visited Rombauer, Miner, and two unforgetable wineries.

We did manage to also make some restaurants: Martini House, Ad Hoc, Silverado Grill, Bistro Jeanty and Bistro Don Giovonggini.

Tres cool trip.

Wow Yvette, I just got back from wine country as well. We did a private tour and lunch at Markham. I loved the gardens there as well as the wine. They have the only cork oak tree that I have ever seen growing. We dined at Bistro Jeanty and a new restaurant called Cindy's Backstreet Kitchen. While in Sonoma my daughters took a balloon ride and enjoyed that very much. We stayed at the Vintner's Inn in Sonoma and the Vintage Inn in Napa. If I can figure it out, I will post some pics.

We also stayed at a dear friend's house in San Francisco. His house is on the grounds of Fort Mason with a beautiful view of the bay and Alcatraz. I loved SF, but it was very cold there. I don't think the temp went above 60 degrees the whole time we were there.

Sounds like an awesome trip, I loved Frank Family. I may drink a bottle tonight, in fact :)

I really want to hit Rombauer on my next visit. Thanks for the report!

Yikes! I just realized that the winery with the beautiful garden is Ferrari Carano in Sonoma. We visited Markham as well, but it is in Napa.

I would have had to purchase two seats to fly home from all of that wonderful dining!

Was wondering about the gardens at Markham:D as the only ones I saw was the gold fish pond.

When we were in Napa three years ago we went to Cindy's Backstreet Kitchen. I loved that place, just could not fit it in the schedule.

When we went to Sonoma about 5 years ago, we stayed at Vintners Inn. Nice place, just down the street from the Bottle Barn. DId you go there. The sell several small wineries and they ship too.

At Rombauer the walking gardens on the hillside and the view is one of the most beautiful in the valley. I could not appreciate the wines that much, that tasting started at 10:00am:eek: as this was after a late night the night before.

This year we stayed at a beautiful resort, which I can't recall the name right now.

Hey Pelican Six....don't worry, you will get to share some of our newly acquired purchases when they come in, in October.

Yvette, I'm drinking a bottle of 98 Frank Family Brut as I type. Damn they make a good champagne. This was our first visit there, and I'm so glad we made it. Two of my favorite wines, Zin & Champagne, they do beautifully. I can't wait to go back once they finish renovations.
