Wowie Zowie! Screwing around with his wife deals with Cancer? What a scumbag. Sounds like a McCain thing.... :(
http://perezhilton.com/2008-07-22-john-edwards-caught-with-mistress-and-bastard-child
Looks like John Edwards' name might be crossed off Barack Obama's VP short list!
The National Enquirer reports that they caught the former Presidential candidate sneaking into a Beverly Hills hotel 2 a.m. Tuesday morning, July 22nd, so he could see his Santa Barbara based mistress and his love child!
Edwards was reportedly in LaLaLand to meet with the city's mayor about homelessness.
Did Johnny boy use the mayor to get out to the West Coast?
Juicy!
The Enquirer cites a months-long investigation to advance its claim that Edwards was visiting the woman he was effing while his wife was battling cancer and the bastard child he fathered.

They've got a big team of attorneys, Bam. If anything, I believe their stuff more than "mainstream" news. (I'm setting the Enquirer apart from the rest of the tabloids).

It wouldn't surprise me if the Enquirer would release a photo or video. Apparently, it was a face-to-face encounter between the reporter and Edwards.
If I'm not mistaken, Edwards caught some flak for refusing to endorse Hillary. I'll bet the Bill and Hill are loving every moment of this.
It's too bad that he's cheating on his cancer suffering wife.... but, hey.... at least it's with a woman. (But not terribly attractive in my opinion).
His career is finished. He'll have to go back to private practice or disappear....
I WANT MORE DIRT ON THIS!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't forget John Mad McCain.... his poor wife waited for his return, got into a car accident, had physical problems (legs, I think) and gained weight.....
That's when he found his trophy wife, Cindy.
All 3 cases are scummy, as far as I'm concerned.

Why the Press Is Ignoring the Edwards "Love Child" StoryA double standard is at work.
When the original Enquirer story about the affair with Rielle Hunter came out, Edwards categorically denied the relationship, stating: "The story is false. It's completely untrue, ridiculous." As he rejected the Enquirer's charges, Edwards was making his wife and their marriage a central component of his campaign. If Edwards had had no affair, he wasn't a hypocrite, not then and not now.
SNIP
f Edwards had no affair and fathered no love child, it should be easy to erase the hypocrisy charge, and the press owes him that, pronto. If we give Edwards the benefit of the doubt, which he deserves, visiting the woman who recently gave birth to the out-of-wedlock child of a married campaign aide is completely OK. But meeting her at a Beverly Hills hotel in the early hours of the morning and running from tabloid reporters when approached and hiding in a hotel bathroom for 15 minutes, as the Enquirer reports Edwards did, is not completely OK. Not if he wants to avoid the hypocrite label.
What a girly-man..... hiding in the little boy's room.

THIS IS TOO KEWL!!!!
The National Enquirer filed a criminal complaint against hotel security at the "love nest"!
A new report claims that Edwards now could be contacted by police to give an eyewitness account of what occurred.
Juicy!
Hotel security showed up and intervened. The reporters charge that not only did one security guard threaten to break their camera but that security also violated several statutes of the California Penal Code, including false imprisonment and preventing a guest from entering land.
The Enquirer reporters were registered guests at the hotel, while Edwards was not!

Wonder when the Enquirer will release photos.... they've gotta have a bunch of 'em. I hope they do a special issue!

I guess based on his quote that if he supports the child then everything is ok, no matter that he's an adulterer with a bastard child?
these now-ironic words from a 2006 National Press Club speech by John Edwards.
“… And, as I mentioned earlier, we would create opportunities for young fathers to work and take responsibility for their children, and reward them for doing so…
“All of us — parents, clergy, teachers, public officials — we need to say that it is wrong when young men father children but don’t support them.

Yes, it's unfortunate that children have to suffer, but sins of the father and all that, being born out of wedlock, as archaic as that notion is, is still what it is, even though it's the fault of the parents. Just because celebrities portray that as an acceptable lifestyle doesn't make it right.

Well, it's getting a little bit of a buzz..... why are the major news outlets ignoring this???? It's killing me.
They make mention in this story that the Enquirer has not released any photos or video YET.
We can only hope. :)
About a dozen reporters and photojournalists attended a speech Edwards gave to an AARP Foundation symposium on poverty and aging in Washington. Afterward, he avoided most of the waiting reporters, at least some of whom wanted to question him about recent reports in the National Enquirer that alleged an inappropriate relationship with a former campaign videographer.
On Wednesday, Edwards apparently ducked out a side area used by the kitchen staff in the fourth-floor ballroom of Washington's historic Hotel Monaco. Edwards emerged from a lower-level handicap ramp near the rear of the hotel with two men. When approached by a Charlotte Observer reporter, Edwards said, "Can't do it now, I'm sorry" and quickly walked past.

Three cheers for the Enquirer!
Minus 25 points for bambam...
My mother always had the rag lying around. I would read some of the articles, and laugh when they hit the "national press" weeks/months later. Not talking the celebrity junk. They had other items, and always broke them first. National press began to follow the Enquirer. Now, the national press only follows Obama.
As for this jerk... what if he had been elected, and this crap would have come out after? Oh, I bet I know what the 3 stooges and their cronies would have yelled..."As long as he is doing his job, I don't care about what he does in his personal life..."
Don't worry. None of the boobs will watch the show tonight. Just like they conviently did not watch Juanita Broderick when she exposed the other piece of crap as a rapist. Oh, that other piece of crap would be Bill Clinton.
And don't forget the other side too. Chief hypocrite Vitter is a piece of scum, and I enjoyed seeing his face today in the news coverage of the lunatics that have been elected to ...ahhh... serve!

The creepiest part of his creepy confession was when he stressed to Woodruff that he cheated on Elizabeth in 2006 when her cancer was in remission. His infidelity was oncologically correct.

Uh, I sure don't stand behind John Edwards, he is " Mr. I am Pretty " with $400 haircuts. A total dirtbag for cheating on his wife, probably not the first time.
Although she certainly went along with the coverup to let him run for office.
Not cool.
But speaking of girlfriends, McCain was still married and shagging Cindy.

I believe you are correct in regards to McCain. I am not sure what went on behind closed doors, but he did start dating Cindy while he was still married. I am not sure if he ever tried to hide it or lie about because it happened so long ago. I did read somewhere that the politicians of the day had a hard time forgiving McCain for the way he treated Carol McCain.
That being said I would vote for John Edwards, Bill Clinton, or John McCain before I would vote for BHO. Infidellity is an issue, but there are bigger issues on the table right now.
Asked whether the Democratic committee would continue to rely on Edwards to raise money, Miller said that the committee "had no current plans."

This gets better and better. The National Enquirer is on the attack. I knew they were sandbagging! :
Levine claims the huge sum they've spent on this story is only a spit to "the enormous amounts we know Edwards is spending to keep it contained. But he can't. We've followed the money trail. He bought her [Rielle Hunter] a $1 million house in North Carolina. Few days before our headlines forced him to go public, he spent $150,000 just on a private plane to whisk her to some undisclosed place. She was moved in the middle of the night. Lots of money is being spent to keep her happy and away from the media.
"We have exclusive photographic evidence, pictures, videos, hard proof to further incriminate Edwards. He doesn't at this point know what we have, which is why I'm asking that we don't reveal too much yet. And which we will use unless and until he acknowledges paternity.

I can understand Bill Clinton and John McCain, but how can you in good conscience say you'd vote for John Edwards over Barak Obama? Unless you really and truly believe in Edwards' brand of Huey Long style populism (which is, uh, doubtful), there is nothing about Edwards' experience or platform that would suggest he'd make him a better president than Obama.

Much to my delight, this scumbag has turned into a man without a country..... couldn't happen to a nicer guy:
John Edwards calling former staffers asking for forgiveness
http://www.nydailynews.com/news/politics/2008/08/25/2008-08-25_john_edwards_calling_former_staffers_ask.html
John Edwards is burning up the phone lines, begging former aides and backers to forgive him for lying about his affair - but hearing their rage instead.
As Democrats kick off their convention Monday, the onetime presidential contender is a man without a party - or a political future - trying to rebuild bridges through dozens of remorseful phone calls.
It's proving a hard sell with onetime true believers.
WHAT A CREEP! I have to chuckle at the naysayers who proclaim that "it's only being reported by the National Enquirer!". They've got their **** together, gang.... I'm almost tempted to spend the money for this issue. :)
The day prior to Edwards bombshell admission to an affair on ABC’s Nightline, Rielle Hunter and her 6 month old daughter, Frances Quinn Hunter, were flown out of the US onboard a chartered Learjet.
The private flight cost $50,000 and was paid for by Edwards’ pals. The Hunters were the solo passengers aboard the eight-hour flight.
The Enquirer (http://www.nationalenquirer.com/images/ne/209552/58918.jpg)
More of the same:

I do not think his peeps are acepting his apology - lol.
"The whole story"?
Interesting read - it appears his wife may have found out about the affair before he told her.
"Sources tell me that it was indeed Elizabeth Edwards who had the videos pulled down when she saw them. The theory among Edwards campaign insiders is that she finally put two and two together. “She realized this blonde woman who was always around and who made these videos, there was something going on," a source said."
