This week's Gambit restaurant review covers Beebe's on the Lake. Would those of you who've been say this review is accurate or no?

I haven't been to Beebe's, in fact I haven't been to that bulding since it was, star? something, way before Wolfe's/

The salmon on brioche sounds very interesting to me, I love smoked salmon different ways...

potato skins! WOW, I didn't know they were still around.
I remember thinking they were cool when Friday's opened on Veterans, in the late 70's, early 80's.

Phil's Grill has really good potato skins. Beachcorner has fair potato skins.

I had the best, though, at Morton's in Bethesda, Maryland. I was exhausted from travelling all day, and watching a basketball game. The Tuna Carpaccio was pretty good, but just didn't do it for me. They whipped up some custom skins for me, and they were dynamite!!

We LOVE this place. Haven't had a dish there yet that we didn't like. Brunch is great...dinner is great..lol. Yes, I give this place an A+. We have spent some great hours at this restaurant...surrounded by great friends, great food and wonderful service. The only thing bad that I can think of could be remedied very easily...start opening on Sunday evenings!..

The music is loud, the restaurant is small, and you must shout to be heard across the table during a set.

I'm just afraid this would give me major indigestion.

If you go in the early evening hours..it's very nice and quiet. Give it a try..the food is really that good.

We went for dinner several months ago and found nearly everything to be underseasoned and bland. Really disappointing. Couldn't believe they charge more for a bowl of gumbo than Commander's. That being said, the selections mentioned in the article were not availble on our visit. Sounds like the menu was reworked. The article has me considering another try although, I am skeptical considering the "talent" of the chef. Perhaps her cooking has been revamped as well.

have enjoyed many a Sunday brunch outside. do not miss the salmon, seafood crepe, pain perdu, and breakfast burrito. the sides of either grits or potatoes are also good.
have heard they reworked the menu for lunch and dinner, but have not had either. can only report on brunch.

kcdixiecat,
Just curious, do you have any affiliation with the restaurant? If not, you must be their #1 fan:)

LOL none whatsoever...but we've spent a few Sunday afternoons on their front porch. Grins. It really has become one of our favorite places. They can mix a great margarita;)

Hmmm maybe it's just the alcohol talking.

I'll have to give it another shot. Went there for brunch shortly after they opened. Underwhelming then.

As I said on TOB, I really liked the food at this place and well as the decor. My only complaint was the music being too loud.

When the weather gets cooler, I would not mind sitting on the deck outside
