caused a traffic delay up when I was taking my son to school this morning, of all places right next to my car at a busy intersection. Wasn't exactly giving off a "humble" vibe...He had a massive black dude next to him, a bodyguard? Oh no he didn't....HAHA...I will NEVER vote for Mitch Landrieu. That said, sadly, not real pleased with any of the choices....
The choices are never good in this state, but sometimes it has to be the lesser of two evils.
A no vote for Mitch Landrieu might get you Troy Henry for mayor.

And a "no" vote for Mitch last time got you Ray Nagin. How'd that work out for you?

In all seriousness, I will vote for Troy Henry before I vote for Mitch.

Then you deserve what you get. Mitch may be cheesy to his core, but after four years of C. Ray, we can use someone with a little political and media savvy who's not going to say things to divide the city and make us a national laughing stock.
And for you conservative "business" types who are afraid of Mitch's liberal agenda, Landrieu and Couhig were the only two candidate to unambiguously support the VA/LSU hospital complex in Mid-City, which happens to be the biggest economic development opportunity this city has seen in my lifetime.
It would just be nice if he like held one job, that was not paid for by the taxpayers. There needs to be a limit on how long people can spend at the government trough.

If you are not voting for Landrieu, you people are wasting your time voting. I certainly won't be. I cannot vote for a Landrieu. His father is the reason why this city is in the condition its in today.

I NEVER jumped on the Ray Nagin bandwagon, especially the first time around when it seemed almost everyone else did.
That said, I never have and never will vote for Landrieu.
Too bad Morgus isn't running....

I am not sure what you are talking about but the city of New Orleans saw it's finest hours under Moon Landrieu. Can you spell Poydras St. the Super Dome, the Saints, and a chicken in every pot in the City? What the hell are some of you thinking? Please fill the rest of us in...

Bam Bam,
I cannnot vote in NO but I'd vote for Troy before Landrieu, too. You know how it must go before it get better.
Landrieu family are from THE SAME ERA as the Kennedy's...all show and NO do. Just raking it in. The black politicians just learning from the pros.
I can't say that I am a homer for Mitch, but I honestly don't get the hate and such because of who his sister is. Has he said a whole lot in the press over the years to make one think they share all of the same views?
I think he is his own man and it seems that he has done a fair job at Lt. gov., especially in the last few years with his focus on culture and tourism, which is what N.O. thrives on.
You don't hear much in reference to him being linked with any corruption or running with any criminals.
You are choosing between three people for mayor right now. Georges just rubs me wrong. He seems like a egotistical prick and his cheap shots at Mitch for getting an endorsement from James Carville's wife was just silly consdidering all of the money he himself has given to republican candidates.
I see him as an empty suit who likes to talk alot about his money.
Henry doesn't seem bad, but his race baiting crap in the last few weeks makes me think of Nagin.

Thanks BTG for saying it so nicely. Some people on this board would rather die than say something good about someone, and try to work together to fix the hell hole that some parts of New Orleans have become.

I'm still bitter (I'm Peychaud after all) over the 2006 election, when conservatives were the swing vote that got Nagin reelected. Even back then it was apparent to me that he was burned out and completely lacking in leadership abilities, but ideology apparently trumped pragmatism. Nice to see those same folks are poised once again to screw us over. All hail Troy Henry, race baiter in chief.
By the way, I hope everybody votes for Janice Lemle over Mauberret. And I like Fielkow and Nolan Marshall for at-large.
Ahh, the bitter Peychaud blaming the conservatives for the election of Nagin the Democrat who really sucked. Leave it to liberals to blame conservatives for not saving them from themselves, like it is our fault all the race baiters and candidates lacking in leadership ability happen to be democrat. We, as conservatives, of course are responsible for the crummy democrat leadership in the city for the last 30 years. It is pretty laughable when you guys point fingers for the apparent ineptness of your democratic candidates. It is really not the conservative's fault for the empty gene pool for which you are faced with.
I would agree with you normally Shep, but Couhig just can't get anyone excited. I thought Ron Forman would have been a great mayor, but he turned out to be a joke of a public speaker at the debates, etc.
Face it, our choices generally suck for most of the state elections.

Amen. You express yourself, and various "truths" very well.
Dammit, if John Georges would have just spent another million or so he might have had this one.:D

Not that there was anyone worth voting for but I just really have this attitude about Landrieu. I had no idea he even lived in New Orleans. I don't see where he has ever accomplished anything in government other than getting elected. His commercials listed a few things about jobs but as long as he has been in a political position, that's his biggest accomplishment?

He is warming up for his race for Lt. Gov. No need to keep all of that old money stored in the boxes in his attic. :toast:

I think they should abolish Lt. Gov. position.... let a marketing firm take care of PR.... not a politician.
His father is the reason why this city is in the condition its in today.
Aint that the truth! We used to be the largest city in the south.
