I'll never understand NFL rules. While I'm thrilled he is back, how can they let him play in the play-offs even though he wasn't a player during the season?

He is not going to play. He is coming on the team to be an honary captain and to lead the team on the field tomorrow. As if the dome wasn't going to be loud enough. :)

He just bumped someone off the team that was going to sit the bench anyway, so no big deal.

Deuce could rally the team in ways that no one else could. Plus the boost of helping out someone who got a raw deal by fate and deserves a hand due to all of his hard work and beyond the call behavior will provide a euphoric lift to the Saint's spirits. I think it's brilliant. Even if it doesn't work, it's brilliant.

I adore Deuce. Adore him. And I'm not going to stop because he does things I don't agree with. BUT TROY HENRY???? Et Tu Deuce?

I hope he got lots of money.

Simply put, NFL teams have the ability to pick up players (NO TRADES) to replace someone anytime during the season, including post-season. Makes no difference if the player has played or not during the regular season. More than likely a player is picked up to replace another that has gotten injured (injuries do not stop after regular season)
The trading deadline is usually about 6 weeks into the regular season.
