Went to the quarter Saturday night to go to HOB for Old 97's. Wanted to catfh a quick bite berfore the show. We were running a little behind our desired schedule, and got to the quarter just before 9pm. Went to K-Pauls' to see if we could get in (I thought we could). I told them that we wanted only appetizers (I wanted them to know that beofre they gave us a table). they said no problem. They said it might be 10 minutes. It was more like 3 or 4. We told our waiter (who had served us there before) that we were trying to get to a show at HOB. We were served very professionally and the foood was awesome. We split a cup of chicken and andouille gumbo, a blackened shrip and avacado salad and a shrimp enchilaada appetizer (I had also ordered a fried rabbit app, but the were out of that. We had a cup of cafe aulait. We had 1 glass of wine and 1 Abita beer. Total bill was just under $50. We were in and out in 45 minutes.

Perfect, all the way around. By the way, the place was packed. We hit it just right. Made it to the show in perfect time.

Still one of my all time favorite places to eat.

In my almost twenty years as a New Orleanian, no restaurant has remained as consistently excellent as K-Paul's.

BTW, if you give a local phone number at the reception area, the wait is never as long as they say it is going to be.
