JAG's yogurt and peach topic, made me wonder,

I never refrigerate a tomato unless it has been cut, same for potato/onion/apple etc.

but I don't refrigerate a cut banana.

I will generalize and state that all fruit tastes better at room temperature, though I love cold apples, pears, peaches, nectarines, papaya, passion fruit, mangosteen, mangos, pineapple, lychees, grapes, starfruit, berries, longan and oranges.

Watermelon is much better served cold IMHO.

I want my tomatoes and apples room temperature. Well, actually..I don't think a tomato tastes any better than when it's right out of the garden..still warm from the sun...take a cloth and wipe the tomato off...grab your salt shaker and eat it like an apple. Good stuff...can you tell that I grew up in the country?

I agree on the watermelon, I don't really eat it, but I was thinking the melon family is better chilled.
And maybe citrus?

Yes a fresh tomato sounds great!
My maternal grndfather had grape vines, orange trees, peppers, mulitple kinds of tomato, can't remember what else, and that was her ein the "city"!;)

Tomatoes and bananas. Lemons and limes for maximum juice.
