Ate lunch there Saturday. Sorry no pictures. One DC had her usual Thai Ribs. Just as tasty as previous ones. My sister ate the Pesto Crusted Trout, also excellent. Flavorful and moist. My cousin liked her Philly Steak Panini. She has eat Philly steaks in Philadelphia at both places so she knows Philly steak. I had something I think is new to the menu. It was the Red Beans and Rice Platter even though they serve it in a large bowl. As I was considering the table next to ours got an order of it an it looked good so I took a chance. Pleasantly surprised. A sea of decent creamy red bean with no hard beans in it at all. A 3 to 4 inch piece of Paul Prudhomme Andouille and a chicken breast lobe cut in half and fried in a buttermilk batter, lots of flavor, crispy crust and moist. The only fly in the ointment was the scoop of brown rice which I dislike. Why does Zea do only brown rice? While it would not stand up to a neighborhood version it was decent.

I do not care much for brown rice with red beans either. One time my wife and decided to only eat brown rice from now on, well, that lasted until I cooked a pot of beans.

I've had the red bean and andouille soup at Zea in Lafayette a few times. I got the rice on the side and I don't recall it being brown, but maybe I didn't add the rice.

Zea has solid food for a small local chain. The pesto crusted trout, Thai ribs and Asian shrimp are my favorites. I buy the sauces and dressings quite often for home use.

I recall the Paris Road Piccadilly as serving their red beans with brown rice. Not sure if the dish and the restaurant are still there post-Thing, but it seems that combination was acceptable enough to keep on the line for years.

I am not saying that people do not like, I am just staying I do not care for it. One of the few foods I prefer not to eat. I am not wild about wild rice either.

My favorite things at Zea's are the Spinach and PepperJelly Salad and the Chicken Salad with the Chinese noodles. Each are spectacular.

The Thai Ribs are killer and don't seem to vary from location to location.
