Going to see The Kingfish @ the Roosevelt tomorrow @ 3:00. At the time, Saints v. Jets was not on my radar. Definitely going to the play, but here's the prob: is there going to be (in the esteemed opinion of the Foodies) a good place for lunch in the area that isn't mobbed by the Saints fans. I love the Saints, but try to make it a policy to stay away from downtown during home games to avoid the traffic etc. So, I have no experience to go on. Any help appreciated.

I second Domenica's. You may also consider Rambla.

Appreciate the tips! Hadn't heard of Rambla - sounds good. Haven't been to Domenica, either. We'll see .... Thanks, again.

Bam and I walked over to Dominica from the Dome. I'm too darn tired to report but it was fun. Maybe he's more awake...if not, tomorrow I promise.

Went to Dominica. Really good! Service was excellent. Maitre de was super at helping me navigate the menu - answered a lot of "what's this ?" questions. Had the salumi & cheese app for four - right size & fantastic. CKD and I had the tomato soup & crabmeat app - very tasty, a little spice, and (somehow) did not overpower the lump crabmeat She had an oyster fettucinni entre, I had ragitoni - both very flovorful but delicate. In all, a super meal. My apologies for the spelling in the above.

One really nice feature of their menu is that you have a choice of ordering large or small portions - I like the option.

My thanks again to Edible and Eatin for the excellent recommendation.

Had lunch at Emeril's before heading to the dome. Emeril and Chef Duke were there...neither were cooking. We both ended up with the crabcake and chicken and waffles. Really good as were the Bloody Marys.
