I need to replace my counter top oven soon and am looking for a workhorse.
It needs to be large enough to cook a whole chicken.
I'd like for it to be able to toast, broil & bake.
Other features: temp control dial & a timer.
I want dials, not those funny feeling push buttons.
I'd like to get one that is going to last & has a good reputation.
And one that doesn't burn toast & cooks well!
I'd like recommendations as well as horror stories, because I want to avoid any models that aren't top notch.
Any advice is greatly appreciated!
BTW, I did ask this question a while back on TOB & got some great answers.
I thought I would be able to access the info when I'd really need it. Well the old one just died & you know the rest.
Thanks in advance for your advice!

I have a DeLonghi I bought about 1990. It still works great and can cook a whole chicken.

We have been using a Black & Decker (Home Depot) for everything - chickens, whole tri-tip roasts, etc.
I've heard the Wolfgang Puck is top notch, but $200.

Will you both tell me your model numbers?
Thanks!
I already have a rotisserie and have never ever used it. (doesn't mean I can't have a second one either).
I know that once I do, I'll wonder what took so long.

I really like my Cuisinart, which can cook a whole chicken (although the fit is close).
Problem is that it is buttons, not dials. Aside from that, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. I probably use it about ten times as often as I use my regular oven.

If you've got a 220v outlet, I've got a commercial counter top convection oven I can sell you for $350.
We'd paid $750 and used it in the cafe in Houma. Big enough for a whole chicken but it doesn't have a broiler feature.

Thanks Todd.
Would it be possible for you to email a picture to me or tell me the make & model so I can look it up?
Do you recall if the outside got hot?
I don't have a 220V, but I am sure an electrician can put one in.
I'll check on that too.
I notice all of the new ovens have the handle at the top & the door opens toward you. I wonder how safe this is - I picture the high potential for burns.
My old oven opened from right to left (away from the person opening it).
I went to look at a few up close & personal tonight. They sure don't make them like they used too.

Don't know if you ever replaced yours, but I happened to see this and thought you might be interested.

The top of my page before I signed in has a banner ad from Macy's for 5 counter top/toaster ovens of various makes. List the prices too.
Don't know it coincidence or if banner reads thread titles and makes suggestions, but seemed appropriate listing them while I was reading a thread on the same item.

Those are "content sensitive" ads. Not a coincidence.
Post a few threads about sex and check out the ads you get.

I looked around the stores a bit & what I am finding is not what I'm looking for!
The one I had before was well insulated & the door opened from right to left. The door sealed totally with a latch on the inside and it kept cool. That is important to me. Otherwise I'd just use the regular oven.
I ended up going out of town & just blew it off til I got back which was tonight.
I appreciate you posting this Atomicdeals.com - I'll check it out!
If anyone knows of a well insulated, latching door type oven, please tell me!
