Hi gang-

Have been googling pizza delivery joints around here.... with no luck. I don't want a chain. I want a local place...mom and dad kinda thing.

The only "new" one for me in this area (GATEHOUSE next to the GALLERIA) was ROMA. I thought it sucked.

Any favorites in this area?

TIA

Tower of Pizza doesn't deliver, but they do quite a bit of take out business. For you at Gatehouse, it would be a quick loop up the service road to Bonnabel to approach it from the back on a side street.

Milano's (Cleary) delivers, but I'm not really a fan of their pizza.

Call the Pizza Shop and see if they will deliver to you in that area. They have a location on Vets next to C's Pharmacy(a mile or so east of Bonnebel).
This is probably my favorite pizza in the area.

If you are at all inclined to get out, Mark Twains on Metairie Rd. would be a quick easy trip for you.

LOL because I just got home from work and am considering pizza too. Mark Twain I believe is closed on Mondays. Pretty good pizza but sometimes underbaked in the middle if you get a large. Brooklyn on Vets is good but it's farther away. There's a drive thru location at Vets and Bonnebal but I'm afraif to try it because it looks seedy to me. I think I'm gonna run over to Whole Foods (sigh) and order a large pepperoni to go. They are close to us Nanette, and even though they don't deliver it's easy to kill time wandering around in the store while they bake it fresh.

My order of choice would be Brooklyn, Tower, Whole Foods. But I'm pretty sure they don't deliver.

But you wanted delivery, no?
Do you have the option of leaving to pick up? I realize your situation may not allow you to leave the house at certain times. A cab would certainly pick up a pizza & deliver, if the parlor won't.

A question for everyone: When you pick up a pizza (or have it delivered for that matter) do you reheat it in the oven on a pizza stone to get it hot & maybe a bit crispy? I heard someone say the other day they love the flabbiness of delivered pizza & would never reheat it because it might lose it's flab. I was pretty surprised to hear this!

Hope things are going okay...

That sounds disgusting. I've got to get one of those pizza stone things...

Had the wife pick up a pizza from Nino's the other night and I usually like his pizza but that particular night it sucked. Now that you mention it, I think it may have been too flabby. A few minutes on a pizza stone would have done it wonders, perhaps.:covri:

Whole Foods pizza is delicious. I picked up a couple of slices when I was in there recently and was very surprised. That's why I don't go to Whole Foods, because instead of healthy stuff I'll come home with pizza and Chantilly Berry cake.

I don't even really like cake, but that Chantilly Berry Cake is da bomb.

Parrot Pete's has their version which I like even better.

I'd skip the pizza and have the cake. All to myself. That stuff is crack. And I don't share my crack.
(actually, I've never had their pizza - I'll have to give it a try next time I'm there)
