Me too on the never look. If someone were advertising free money, I would miss getting my share.

Look at the ads and every now and then click through one of them. It is a god way to show Admin our appreciation for helping us out like he did.

Neworleans.com has an Adwords account and it is possible that they do not even know they are advertising on this site.

Ads are content-driven by the provider. If this were a forum about beagles, you'd see a lot of pet-related ads. TOB did not make a directed effort to have ads placed here. But if we wanted them not to, we could. We have no plans in that regard at this time.

The ad provider's policies dictate we do not request that visitors click ads, and we adhere. That prohibition, however, does not apply to Amazon ad content.

I will refrain from asking people to click the banners, but I did notice that the Amazon ad has the entire series of Stragate SG-1 for $116. Not a bad deal for 10 seasons of a great show. I wish I could afford it right now.

edit: my bad, it is 250, but I swear last night I saw 116, oh well.

Step away from the Cuervo Golden Margarita ready-to-drink! Oh, that would be me! Never mind, Alex! http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3077/2678639246_c12fee18f1_o.gif

That may well be true. Amazon is constantly "testing" price points to see what drives sales. We have gotten all our classic TV series DVDs for $19.99 by catching them during such periods, when they're $40 or $50 regularly.

I have to wonder if everybody's banner is different as mine is an amazon banner featuring the last three things I have recently bought there, making me believe it is some sort of ad-bot driven by your personal browser activity. I have seen nothing that other posters to this thread have mentioned.

If you have browsed items at Amazon, they, not us, set cookies on your computer to assist them in showing you "relevant" items on subsequent visits. Their ads, served by them, function similarly to your actually going to their website.

You are right. Amazon tinkers with DVD prices continually and if you catch them at the right time they have great bargains. Often the sales run for a day or a couple of hours. There are probably websites that keep track of these kinds of things.

deepdiscountdvd.com must track amazon pricing as they are almost always less expensive and they do buy one get one free, buy one get two free, and 20% off sales often. They do a lot of $4.98 sales for all MGM and other company's videos too. They send emails informing me of their sales.
