LSU got a very winnable 1st round game versus Butler. LSU has size and experience, two things Butler is lacking. Despite Butler's recent tourney success, this is a different team and I think the fact that LSU still has three guys from the Final Four team on its roster will be a significant edge in this game. So you'll win the first only to be completely smoked by UNC in the second round.

Not if Carolina plays like it did on Saturday. I was so disgusted. I think Hansboro was trying too hard to break the all time scoring record and made many foolish shots. Plus....Frazor stinks.

LSU really struggles with the big guys, so if we play NC, I say we lose by 20.

Should be a damn entertaining tourney this year. I have to find someone good to read so I can get the "scoop" for my bracket games.

I think the Tigers got completely screwed. An 8 seed? Come on. This is a team that won its conference, then lost two meaningless games, with out only experienced big (CJ) having the flu. He should be at full strength by this weekend.

I have a hard time believoing there are 28 teams in the country better than LSU. The Tigers were ranked in the Top 15 two weeks ago.

Butler was in the Top 20 most of the year. Are there 32 teams in the country better than they, as indicasted by their 9 seed?

Illinois a 5 seed? Cal a 7?

Miss. St a 13? Hell, this weeknd they could have beaten almost anyone, with Varnado in the middle and a team 10-12 deep that can shoot the ball.

Butler is the type of tem that could be trouble for the Tigers, but we do have too much experience and athletecism for them.

And I agree tha UNC could beat us handly, but they will have to be on their game. They cannot sleep walk their way past LSU.

My pick to win it all?

Pitt or UNC.

A strong play for Thursday: No. Iowa + 8.5 over purdue.

I am taking LSU -2.5 for a small play. May load up if the line drops.

Taking VCU +7.

Friday taking Cle St. Waiting for the line to go up.

Taking Maryland +1.

Also bet Portland St. on the money line.

LSU cannot guard Howard at all. Butler would be up big, if it weren't for the early fouls.

2 of the 3 games right now are outstanding. Cal St. Northridge taking it to Memphis. I am going to have a sore thumb.

LSU won, even though big white was just standing in the lane for 5 seconds at a time shoving his a$$ into our guy until the refs called a foul.
It was a great season, but Tyler is going to score 48 on LSU in the first half on Saturday.

With or without Lawson, UNC is going to thrash you guys. You do have a good coach, so I would expect the game to be close until UNC goes on a run to end the half.

The Cal-MD game is very entertaining.

Taking the over in UW-MSU.

Smart move putting Mitchell on him late in the fourth quarter.

Big day yesterday. Dogs are barking today. Playing Ok st+2, Utah st +5, bc+2, portland st. +10.5, cleveland st + 7.5, fsu - 2.5.

Moneyline plays on Portland st and Cleveland st.

Love Siena but it is a home game for OSU. A no play for me at +3.

2-0 today. I got nothing in this next window of games. Just going to nurse my hangover with a bloody Mary and 5 lbs of crawfish.

Cleveland st made a great night for me. I am strong on villanova tomorrow. LSU is +11. Should go to 13 by gametime. It could be playable at that number.

I'm doing great on my bracket. So far, the only game I've lost is Florida St.

Action is sick today.

We blew through 40lbs of crawfish and 15 lbs of shrimp like it was our job yesterday. After discussing how this isn't the same tourney we grew up with, Friday's late night window blew our minds as Siena rallied in 2 OTs and Wisconsin downed three after three in order to overtake FSU. I didn't really get to enjoy my Cleveland St ML win as Wake was dead in the water with about 7 minutes left in the game and the other two games were fantastic. And one of my crew had Siena.

Today, my strongest play is on Villanova -2.

I am also taking Texas A+M +11.5, UW -1.5, Oklahoma -6, WKY +11 and Texas +7.5.

I am watching the UNC-LSU line for a possible play on LSU but I hate betting playoff games for a cover. My rule is that the dog has to be capable of winning the game outright for a play on them. But I think the final here is 75-65 something like that. So another point or two and I'll be rooting for the Tigers.

I am also playing under 159 in UNC-LSU.

BTW, if I have to hear one more thing about Obama's bracket, I am going to through a brick through my television.

Although, Linda Cohn did mention me on SportsCenter last night as 1 of the 320,000 who picked Cle St in the tournament challenge.

I went 13-3 again on day 2, for 26-6 on the first round. Not as good as you, but I will take it. Unfortunately, I had some of my losers going pretty far, so it's not going to be pretty from here.

Well LSU battled hard and did better than I thought they would. The score is not an indication of what kind of game this was. LSU led by 5 halfway throught the 2nd half, but down the stretch UNC was just too damn good and had too much depth.

Still doing good in my bracket, but Illinois and Wake losing really hurt me as I had both of them going to the sweet 16.

bam bam
03-22-2009, 05:01 AM
UNC never went on a run in the 1st half. Some of that was due to the Lawson injury. I also think LSU's size at all 5 positions played into it as well. The line did get to 13 and you still didn't cover.

I had a good day. Hit up nova huge and taunted my idiot friend who was on UCLA. Managed to talk myself out of betting Maryland. Then hit a parlay in the night session.

Early game tomorrow: Arizona St +3.

Rest of the card is sketchy.

The lines for Thursday and Friday are very sharp. That said, I love Villanova tomorrow night.

I am also playing Gonzaga on the ML. There is a significant chance they get routed in this game. But +320 or more is good value. They can win outright at least 35% of the time.

I am playing Kansas +1.5.

Tonight, I also like Villanove. they are the better team and I think would win 7 of 10 matchups with Duke. that said, Vill +2 is a bargain. I also like Pitt tonight.

I also lean to Memphis and the over.

I like the over in the UConn/Purdue game and lean to Purdue (under rated, good, balanced squad).

Well, so much for the 'cuse.

Today, I think Pitt finally plays a good tourney game. Nova is hot, but Pitt frontline should be too strong.

I think Uconn handles Missou.

Louisville looked really good last night, as did UNC. They both should win easily on Sunday to advance to Final 4.

I am a little shocked that Cuse ran out of gas on Friday night. I like both favorites today. Louisville is a small play. A higher wager will be placed on UNC.

The final four should really be exciting. I am sad it is almost over. Go Heels! I thought it was ironic that Jason Capel (they kept showing him in the stands) did not wear his UNC gear supporting his former team and instead supported his brother by wearing theirs. It always was amusing to me that one went to Carolina and the other Duke.

The line for the Nova/UNC game is whacked. I thought UNC should be favored by 4. The line is 7 and may go higher by gametime. Medium play on Nova @ 7. Huge play if it gets over 8.

I've done pretty well betting these +300 dogs in Championship games over the years but this one was a huge whiff. These two teams could play 7 times and MSU would be lucky to win once.

I cal it a major ass whupping!! Tarheels #1!!! It made it even better with all of the announcers pick MS at the beginning. Magic at halftime was trying to say nice things about his former team, but really wanted to tell it like it was....they were outplayed.
