I trade stocks quite a bit and have been dealing in energy lately because of the collapse in oil prices, but I digress. This morning on a energy report I read the following statement:
"The Democratic-controlled House of Representatives and Senate were expected later on Friday to approve the emergency package to create or save 3.5 million jobs and hand President Barack Obama a big political victory."
How may I ask, is it a big political victory when The president 's party is in complete control of both houses of congress? Republicans were not even given the bill to look at because, as Ms Pelosi said, they were not going to vote for it anyway, so why should they get to read it. Let us just forget that silly Constitution thing, because all Republicans would do is read it and report to their constituents what was actually in it, and we can't be having that. Silly me, I thought a big "political victory" was when a President convinced both parties to agree on something because it would not be possible to otherwise pass a bill.
