I will be at a seminar at the riverfront Hilton on Friday and Saturday and would like some suggestions for lunch. Walking distance or along the streetcar line would be great. I was thinking Muriels or Luke.

See the visitors thread. Tapas at Rio Mar would be fun and reasonable. Johnny's po-boys (FQ), Sake Cafe, lots of lunch places in CBD (a la Serios, etc).

A couple of places that are a closer walk than Luke.

1) Bon Ton Cafe. Old, old time N.O. stuff. Try the crab meat au gratin.

2) Rio Mar- Seafood, Seafood and more Seafood. All good. None fried.

3) Lil Dizzy's. More downscale in price than the other two. Good fried chicken.

4) Allegro Bistro- Friday only. Good upscale lunch. Pasta, salads, a steak, etc. If you go, get some soup. He makes some of the best in town. (Caveat- these are friends of mine and I'm not terribly objective about this one spot.)

Sake Cafe

Oops, that was the wine. I meant Rock N Sake (or Horinoya).

I'm not a fan of RNS at dinner, but it's not bad at lunch.

Allegro and Horinoya are at least a mile walk.

If you've never been, I 2nd Drago's.

If you're thinking Muriel's, take that little Riverfront Streetcar(not the Canal St) to Jackson Square.

Luke will be a few blocks, too...I'd do Herbsaint over Luke.
If time isn't an issue, take the Canal St. Streetcar to Royal or Bourbon and walk one block to Mr. B's, Dickie Brennan's Steakhouse, Bourbon House, Redfish Grill.

I don't know how much time you'll have but if it's limited, the closest is Dragos for sure...then Grand Isle, Ruth's Chris in Harrah's, Rio Mar, Rock'n'Sake, NOLA Grocery, Emeril's, Cochon, Lucy's, LaCote Brasserie...
