Excluding both workday lunch breaks and special occasions, how often do you dine out, as an average, per month?
Include weekday dinners; weekend breakfasts, brunches, lunches or dinners. Also include any dining out immediately preceding a sporting or other event, either weekday or weekend.
Where you go or how much you spend are not important for the purposes of this poll, only the frequency.
Feel free to elaborate what meals you usually take out, and on what days you take them. Also, does your current average differ, higher or lower, from this time a year ago?

I thought it was per week...so my vote is completely wrong. Oops.
I voted 13-16, based on 3 dinners a week (12) plus at least one lunch per weekend (4) and a dinner per weekend (4)....
****. I under voted.

Poll results have been adjusted to compensate for the reading and mathematically challenged.

LOL, dang I eat out more than I thought I did!
At least once a week my husband "cooks" which is our codeword for stop on the way home, and pick up dinner. Five Happiness, Mandina's, Acropolis, Phonecia's, Cafe' Fresca, Venezia II ... those are usually the choices. On weekends we usually eat out at least twice... one brunch, one dinner. I like Friday night seafood dinners, Acme, Don's, Galley.
This weekend I can't wait to take him to breakfast at the City Diner. That place is great.
I like the breakfast buffet at the Kenner casino... but it's over at 10, which means they stop refreshing everything about 9:30, and we hate hustling out anywhere EARLY on a weekend. Plus there is a loooooooong line of ... er.... elderly folks. :) A REALLY long line.

Ack. Never.

LOL Buzd... sounds like a story here, please share. :)
I'm not all that crazy about it myself, I think it's very expensive for so-so food. My husband likes it a lot because it's so close to our house. But as with all places, I can always find things I like - it's just not my first choice.

Nothing too major. I work in Metairie, and CF has always been on the rotation for lunch orders. After about 4 times, I realized that they NEVER got my order right. Not Ever. Not once. I found it overpriced, not very good, and nothing seemed to fit together well (everything on a sandwich was different sized and nothing fit together well). The two times I ate on site, the wait (for the food) was interminable, and again, they screwed it up.
The office still orders there, but I won't. They just don't give a damn.

Buzd, there is one thing I really dislike about CF.... their bread and that 'herb' butter stuff. Gross. That bread is awful... makes me imagine what a giant piece of communion would taste like. Blech.

Used to eat lunch in the Metairie CBD every weekday and dinner out about 4 times a week. That was before my career change from executive management to public elementary school teacher and subsequent enrollment in graduate school. Now we eat out (maybe) once a week. There really is no such thing as lunch for me. I'm a lot happier, I've lost 20 pounds, and I have more family time with my young kids. I've traded money for happiness so it's all good :)

I tried to do the money for happiness thing, give something back to the community, etc. Well, it last all of about six months. I actually got fired from public service. I guess not being a self congratulating incompetent meant I didn't fit in. My friends did say I lasted longer than expected. I think some money changed hands around the four month mark.
Oh well, back to the moolah.

I'd trade money for happiness but food and wine make me happy and I need money for that. (not that I have a lot, but I know I spend MOST of my~discrectionary~money on food/wine)

A statistic quoted on local talk radio this morning asserts that New Orleanians eat out an average of 3.6 times per week.

Sounds like what Buzd gets at his lunches :D
I voted 4 times or fewer. I do pick up meals for dinner probably 8 times a month or so.
Our biggest problem is that the kids are too young to bring out and adding a $30 baby sitting bill to the night's tab gets expensive real quick.

being in the restaurant business, at least one meal a day is comped, so that would be a daily thing. on days I don't work? I go out and get a meal. so I could say seven days a week. Do I ever do two spots in a day? rarely. I relish trying new spots, and there are many I haven't tried. I love to read forums about places, especially I haven't been to.
Love Jacque Imo's. thats a treat, so is Commanders, and Red Fish Grill. Love the Rivershack, and believe it or not? roly poly. just love the variations they offer.
can never get enough oysters... always lookin for new places on that note...
