Just after a month of issuing his first report, the city's inspector general has decided to leave office.
After talking with his doctor and his family, he said, “This is very, very serious job; it is very difficult job. You have to give your all… Often times it is 12-hour a day job.” The demands of the office when weighed against his health and his age factored in his decision."

Discouraging to say the least. Seems like Noggin and the crooks won this round.
Arnie Fielkow said in an interview that because of this the council feels even more motivated to get the IG office up and running properly, even after admitting that some of his fellow council members say what's popular in public then throw up roadblocks that interfere with the operation of the IG. (Hmmm, who would that be??)
In another interview I heard a "political analyst" by the name of Charles Rice being WDSU at noon. He said that the IG's approach was like a bull in a china shop and the IG made his job much harder by not getting to know people in city government, to which I say "GOOD!"
I don't kow but this Rice guy sounds like a Nagin stooge. Wasn't he part of the administration at one point?
